Rainy Café Days

Just when I had a whole day to devote to photography, the weather decides not to cooperate. Oh well! Despite the rain, I made it to Surfside to visit my girlfriend Carmen and tour her beautiful home which she recently purchased with her hubby last November.

We stopped into this delicious café called Miami Juice in Sunny Isles for a quick bite. I ordered the baked potato with steamed veggies and soy cheese, and a glass of pineapple juice. Carmen had the mixed fruit bowl with shaved coconut, and the freshly squeezed orange juice. We both left feeling satisfied and refreshed.

The restaurant has a health food market attached with some organic munchies to take home. They also sell vitamins, spices, flowers and fresh produce.

If you're ever in the neighborhood, I suggest giving this place a try. Perfect for a light lunch or snack after yoga on the beach (weather permitting).

Carmen's fruit bowl - she actually took this photo. Already a pro!

My baked potato with purple and yellow cauliflower.

The little market.

St. Augustine Getaway

Happy New Year! Can't believe how fast 2010 flew by, but I'm excited to see what 2011 has in store. I have two New Year resolutions. One is to become more financially savvy and the other is to take more photos.

I came home yesterday from a week-long holiday vacation in St. Augustine. The quaint beach house we rented with several close friends was just steps away from the sand with a beautiful view of the ocean. The first few days were abnormally cold and in fact, a freeze warning was in effect one night. Once it warmed up, we were able to squeeze in some beach time but very few of us actually braved the icy cold water.

Looking back through my photos, I realized I took more photos of our dogs than of us! Here are a few of my favs.
